Bloomberg. We are proud to be a new era of mobility in the city to New York to introduce the Nissan NV200 taxi in New York City Taxi of Tomorrow," said Ghosn. After a rigorous two-year competitive bid selection process, chose the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC), the Nissan NV200 taxi in May 2011 as an exclusive taxi in New York City from 2013.


Is based on Braun's innovation and experience in the mobility sector Nissan to offer a mobility solution to New York City taxi medallion owner, if the taxis go on sale in 2013. As part of the Taxi of Tomorrow program Nissan is studying and working with the city and taxi owners on a pilot program, the use of zero-emission, electric vehicles as taxis. Nissan will be six 100-percent electric Nissan Leafs and three Level 2 charging stations for free taxi owners and New York City to test the electrification of the taxi fleet.The Nissan NV200 taxi will be produced in North America at Nissan's plant in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
